All Subaru Outback models come with the legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, allowing you to maintain optimal traction throughout changing weather conditions. In addition, available X-MODE® Traction Management provides adjustable profiles to tailor vehicle output to your current scenario. Depending on your preferred trim, you'll find one of two powertrains under the hood:

• 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® - Produces up to 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque with up to an EPA-estimated 28 MPG combined.
• 2.4-liter Turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® - Produces up to 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque with up to an EPA-estimated 25 MPG combined.

Safety

When it comes to safety, the Subaru Outback spares no expense thanks to a rigid chassis design, comprehensive airbag suite, and standard EyeSight® Driver-Assist Technology. Some of the standard safety programs included on Subaru Outback SUVs include Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Automatic Emergency Steering. Optional features that provide added peace of mind include Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking, and the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation system that alerts drivers of drowsy or distracted behavior.
